Job Description

  • Maintains and administers the Integrated Management System (IMS) in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 Standards at the terminals.
  • Conducts internal audits regularly, in line with maintaining IMS and SQAS processes, consistently.
  • Monitors terminal safety and security in line with ISPS (International Ship & Port Facility Security Code), and local regulations and conducts periodic inspections, identifies and implements improvements.
  • Conducts Safety inductions and trainings and Safety Committee Meetings, as well as periodic refresher trainings, and pro-active communication of safety topics and alerts through multiple channels, as needed.
  • Keeps up to date with new legislation and maintains a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employer's industry.
  • Conducts accident investigations and periodic inspections of operational assets including firefighting equipment, first aid equipment, alarm systems, and lifting gears.
  • Examines potential unsafe working conditions and implements corrective/preventative actions.
  • Involves and participates in the identification and safe disposal of hazardous substances.
  • Reviews operational risk assessments and ensures readiness pertinent to emergency response plans and running periodic mock drills.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • The ideal candidate shall be a Graduate with at least 5 years' experience in a similar role, within the port industry.
  • The incumbent shall be confident in their ability to ensure a safe workplace with improved operational efficiency, in line with UAE legal requirements and safety regulations pertaining to the Shipping and Ports industry.
  • A UAE Driving license holder shall be preferred, as the role may require frequent commute across the company's work sites.

  • HABC Level 3 Train the Trainer
  • NEBOSH Accident Investigation
