Job Description

  • Maintain and enhance the Terminal Operating System- TOS system & other business applications across Terminals operations.
  • Manage & support overall operations to ensure stable IT services.
  • Acts as the Situation Manager, provide immediate support for unplanned events adversely affecting the IT services & Network operations.
  • Manages and supports LAN & WAN Network, firewalls and ensures software, hardware and network installs, re-installs, upgrades, changes and relocations are completed efficiently and as required.
  • Develops and maintains policies and procedures, ensuring IT projects are completed within budget guidelines and maintaining best practices.
  • Understand business goals, IT strategies and IT industry trends to develop comprehensive technology strategies and roadmaps in collaboration with HO IT.
  • Manage highly available IT infrastructure including business applications, Mails, SharePoint, VMWARE, SCOM, SCCM, IP Telephony, datacenter and network environments
  • Direct project-based initiatives, including upgrades of existing infrastructure, expansions, setting up new locations and deployment of new technology as well as training of end-users on new changing systems.
  • Oversee the enterprise support structure including help desk, servers/network/security, desktop, and application capabilities
  • Drive the implementation, integration, and adoption of IT platforms necessary to support the growth closely working with HO IT
  • Manage third party vendors providing critical business capabilities including local and wide area network, email, collaboration, and telephony services
  • Implement and maintain an Information Security Management Systems based on the ISO/IEC 27000 series standards, including certification against ISO/IEC 27001 where applicable.
  • Implement and maintain the necessary information security policies, standards, procedures and guidelines, in conjunction with the Information Technology Security Committee.
  • Perform the IT compliance monitoring and improvement activities to ensure compliance both with internal security policies etc. and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Participate and support relating to contingency planning, business continuity management and IT disaster recovery in conjunction with relevant functions and third parties
  • Comply with IT Policies (Governance and IT Security) and comply with all applicable system and security controls /Clause and local LAWs.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • B.Sc/B.A Degree or equivalent in Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering or related subject
  • ITIL, PMP, MCSE, CCNA, RHEL,SUSE, Cloud Technology, RPA, IOT, SQL(oracle/MS SQL), OS (MS, Unix/Linux), Scripting (desirable), Boomi (desirable), JAVA/JS(Desirable)
  • Minimum of 10 years, in IT Operations, ideally for Ports / Shipping / Logistics industries.

· This role is based on-site at the Umm Qasr Port in Iraq, and involves working and living on the port premises.

· Perks include on-site accommodation, meals and transportation, and a work schedule of 63 days on and 21 days off.
