Job Description

  • Monitor competitor performance through the development of standard reporting and dashboards.
  • Provide insights specifically related to Trade Intelligence and Competitor Intelligence, including the development of advanced market intelligence tools and related services; benchmark the data and collaborate internally and externally to understand the data requirements for the commercial organization and plan commercial reporting capabilities.
  • Regularly review customer performance based on factual sources and conduct analysis to indicate customer potential and segmentation across the full company scope.
  • Conduct first-rate research and garner access to new markets, by identifying trade opportunities for import/ export businesses.
  • Stay informed on National Trade Policies and trade negotiations.
  • Identify greenfield / brownfield opportunities where the company can invest, given the synergies with current portfolio, and support with the internal feasibility analysis and commercial due diligence through thorough research and forecasting models for projects.
  • Plan, manage and build the capacity of the BI and Analytics center to become the undisputed source of relevant and up to date trade/ competitor related information.
  • Work closely with colleagues in Sales, Contracts and Customer Service and effectively share and communicate valuable data, to ensure the organizational business understanding of trade, monitoring GT Group's performance vs. target.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly dashboards, including analyses and recommendations, and drill-down findings.
  • Develop and manage healthy, profitable and long-lasting relationships with clients and stakeholders, and continuously monitor customer satisfaction.
  • Perform feasibility studies for the establishment of a new service and/or trade lane, or any rationalization of existing services, based on a thorough understanding of carrier network, costs and revenue streams.


Desired Candidate Profile

  • An ideal candidate will hold a MBA Degree or equivalent in Business/Finance and have at least 5 years’ experience in Business Intelligence and Analytics in the container/ bulk shipping and or container terminals industry.
  • Expert knowledge of MS Office suite – Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint are a must-have.
  • Good understanding of financial statements.
  • Proficiency in Data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI (including DAX).
  • Knowledge in Relational databases such as SQL or Oracle, or Programming languages for data analysis, such as Python will be a plus, but not necessary.
